REMARKS HEAD OF INSTITUTE

Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) is a university that continues to make significant contributions to research and community service. UNHAS, the largest university in Eastern Indonesia, has a role in the welfare of human civilization on a local, national, and international scale.

Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) is assigned to increase the quantity and quality of research and community service at Hasanuddin University, which can then be applied as community service.

LPPM will be designed to explore the potential of the Hasanuddin University academic community in obtaining research ideas under the needs of the industrial world to help overcome societal problems. This is supported by an increase in the number of Research and Development Centers (Puslitbang), the establishment of the Research Ethics Commission, the International Grant Division, and the Research Policy Division.

We would like to thank UNHAS for entrusting and directing LPPM UNHAS. We express our deepest gratitude for this noble task. We hope that through our commitment and high sense of responsibility, we will make the “New LPPM” UNHAS a “research supermarket” for the UNHAS academic community in research and community service to form an exciting research atmosphere. We also hope to contribute to improving the bright ideas needed in this era to prosper society and build civilization, nation, and state.

INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH AND COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Research and Community Service Institute (LP2M)  initially consisted of two independent institutions. Both  the institutions are the Research Institute (LP) and the  Community Service Institute (LPM). Through the  Universitas Hasanuddin Rector’s Decree as the Head  of the University Senate No. 2630/H4/0/2010 on 29  June 2010, the two institutions were then integrated  into one institution, namely the Research and  Community Service Institute (LPPM), Universitas  Hasanuddin

The  integration is  conducted with the consideration that research conducts and community services are essentially inseparable aqctivities, in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education Institutions. In addition, the integration of  the two institutions considers the eficiency and  effectivity of human resource management.

LPPM is a decent institution and has the capacity to  solve and advocate for problems that develop in the  community. Especially related to the application of  science, technology, and science (Ipteks). As a  subsystem of the organization and a working  procedure of Universitas Hasanuddin, LPPM in its  operations utilizes human resources and other  facilities within Universitas Hasanuddin.
