The Center for Disaster Studies of LPPM and the Department of Geology, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University visited Singapore to discuss a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in collaboration with the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS), Asian School of the Environment, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Monday (14/11).
The visit was attended by Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, ST., MT (Deputy Dean for Partnership, Research, and Innovation, Faculty of Engineering), Dr. Eng. Hendra Pachri, ST., M.Eng. (Head of the Geological Engineering Department), Ilham Alimuddin, ST, M.GIS., Ph.D. (Head of the Unhas Center for Disaster Studies), and Dr. Ulva Ria Irfan, ST., MT (Head of the Earth Technology Doctoral Study Program). The Director of the Earth Observatory of Singapore welcomed this visit.
Dr. Eng. Hendra Pachri, ST., M. Eng, as Head of the Unhas Geological Engineering Department, led the visit. This visit was a form of implementation of the International Partnership Network Model Development Program, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University.
“The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) has a mission to conduct research around Southeast Asia such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and climate change, with the hope of forming a safe and sustainable society system,” he explained.
The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS), Nanyang Technological University Singapore, stated that they are willing to establish a joint research collaboration with the Department of Geological Engineering and the Center for Disaster Studies at Hasanuddin University. This program also supports Hasanuddin University in its achievement of becoming a World Class University (WCU).
“Prof. San-Ho Yun as an EOS Associate is willing to build special cooperation in the field of remote sensing and is ready to support the mapping. So that this collaboration will optimize the development of the Hasanuddin University Center for Disaster Studies,” said Dr. Eng. Hendra Pachri.
