Friday, April 11, 2025 — As part of its commitment to encouraging research among young academics, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Hasanuddin University held a signing ceremony for the 2025 Hasanuddin University Early Career Faculty Research Scheme. This activity is part of efforts to support the development of young lecturers’ research capabilities, while also strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
A total of 150 research lecturers from 16 faculties within Hasanuddin University are listed as recipients of the 2025 research grants. Participating faculties include the Faculty of Economics and Business, Social and Political Sciences, Marine Science and Fisheries, Pharmacy, Medicine, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Postgraduate Studies, Vocational Studies, Cultural Sciences, Law, Public Health, Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), and Engineering.
In his speech, the Head of LPPM Unhas encouraged the lecturers who received grants to maximize the funding received as a first step in building a sustainable academic career. “This funding is an important starting point for our younger colleagues as young lecturers to develop themselves as researchers. This is also part of our academic obligation in carrying out the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education),” he said.
In line with this, the Secretary of LPPM added that the allocation of funds for this year’s PDPU scheme had increased significantly, namely by 50% compared to the previous year. This increase is expected to encourage young researchers to produce quality research outputs and, if possible, exceed the targets proposed in their proposals.
In addition to the contract signing, this activity was also coupled with a technical socialization session on the fund disbursement mechanism and an explanation of the legal articles in the contract, to ensure that researchers fully understand the administrative and legal aspects accompanying the implementation of research.
