Thursday, November 6, 2025 The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University once again held the 2025 National Seminar on Research and Community Service (SEMRIPMAS) III with the theme “Strengthening Impactful Research and Community Service Towards Sustainable Development.”
The event took place at the LPPM UNHAS building and was attended by hundreds of participants, including faculty members, researchers, and students from various faculties.
The chair of the SEMRIPMAS III 2025 committee, Dr. Ilham Alimuddin, ST., M.GIS., explained in his report that this seminar serves as a strategic forum for the academic community to disseminate the results of research and community service that have a real impact. “Through this forum, we want to emphasize the importance of synergy between research and community service to address the challenges of sustainable development,” he said.
This national seminar featured several speakers who discussed the role of research and community service in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). After the opening session, the event continued with a presentation of community service results by the participants.
In this session, participants presented various community service programs that they had implemented in various regions, ranging from coastal community empowerment, appropriate technology development in rural areas, strengthening digital-based MSMEs, to increasing community capacity in sustainable environmental management.
The Head of LPPM Unhas, Prof. Dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.Mk(K), said that the presentation of community service results was an important part of efforts to build an impactful scientific culture. “We hope that through this forum, the results of the lecturers’ and researchers’ community service will not only be limited to reports, but can be replicated and further developed to address the real needs of the community,” he said.
The 2025 National Seminar on Research and Community Service III serves as an important momentum for LPPM Unhas to continue promoting interdisciplinary research and community service collaboration and strengthening the contribution of higher education institutions in supporting sustainable development in Indonesia.
