LPPM UNHAS Signs MoU with the Regional Development, Research, and Innovation Planning Agency of Bulukumba Regency
Thursday, November 14, 2024 The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening cooperation between academics and local governments. Today, at the LPPM Building on the UNHAS Campus, LPPM UNHAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Regional Development Planning, Research and Innovation Agency (Bappeda Riset dan Inovasi) of Bulukumba Regency.
The MoU was signed by the Secretary of LPPM UNHAS, Prof. Ir. Suharman Hamzah, Ph.D., (Eng)., HSE, and the Head of Bappeda Research and Innovation of Bulukumba Regency. The event was also attended by a number of officials from both parties, as well as academics and research practitioners who gave their full support to the collaboration.
This cooperation aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of research, development, and innovation, which is expected to have a positive impact on the development of Bulukumba Regency. Through this MoU, UNHAS will support Bulukumba Regency in formulating more effective research-based policies and contribute to the development of innovations in line with the local needs and potential of the region.
The Secretary of LPPM UNHAS, Prof. Suhe, in his speech said that this collaboration is very strategic, especially in utilizing research results for regional development. “We hope that through this collaboration, the research conducted at UNHAS can provide applicable and relevant solutions for the development of Bulukumba Regency, both in the social, economic, and technological fields,” said Prof. Suhe.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bulukumba Regency Research and Innovation Agency expressed his appreciation for this positive step. According to him, with this collaboration, Bulukumba Regency will further strengthen its competitiveness, especially in utilizing research and innovation to promote more sustainable development.
The scope of this MoU includes, among others, human resource capacity building, joint research, development of appropriate technology, and implementation of research results in regional development programs. Both parties also agreed to support each other in various research programs that can improve the welfare of the community.
The signing of this MoU is expected to be an important milestone for enhancing cooperation between universities and local governments in order to accelerate the realization of development based on research and innovation that benefits the community.
