LPPM Unhas and Selayar Regency Government Initiate Cooperation Plan Through LPPM Working Meeting: Building Innovation for Shared Prosperity

The Unhas Research and Community Service Institute held a working meeting as an effort to build cooperation with the Selayar government, Selayar Regency, on Saturday-Monday (November 18-20).

The Working Meeting (Raker), which marked the beginning of strategic cooperation between the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) and the Selayar Regency Government, was successfully held. The event began with an opening ceremony attended by Prof. dr. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp. MK (K), Head of LPPM UNHAS, Prof. Ir. Suharman Hamzah, ST., MT., Ph.D(Eng)., HSE, and representatives of the Regent of Selayar. This event marked an important milestone in establishing a robust framework to address development challenges and enhance community welfare.

In an enthusiastic atmosphere, several important officials were present, including the Head of the Education Office, the Head of the Health Office, and the Satpol PP from Selayar, who participated in a constructive dialogue to plan collaborative steps. The meeting featured presentations from each of the Heads of the Research and Community Service Centers of LPPM UNHAS who were present, discussing development issues in various sectors, such as social, education, tourism, health, development, natural resource utilization, and human resource quality improvement.

In a series of presentations, UNHAS research experts, such as Dr. Irmawati S.Pi, M.Si (Biotechnology Research and Development Center), Dr. Samsu Arif, M.Si (WITARIS Research and Development Center), and others, discussed the potential for cooperation in various fields to support sustainable development in Selayar Regency. Intensive discussions are expected to generate innovations that will benefit the development of the region.

The main objective of this meeting is to open up opportunities for closer collaboration between UNHAS and Selayar Regency. Through in-depth dialogue and productive exchange of ideas, it is hoped that more structured and synergistic cooperation can be formed. With the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), stakeholders are expected to formulate concrete steps to implement the ideas resulting from this meeting.

The event closed with hopes for the success and continuity of this collaboration. Thanks were expressed to all parties who contributed to building a productive and collaborative dialogue. The LPPM UNHAS meeting with the Selayar Regency Government laid a solid foundation for potential collaboration, giving new hope for the progress and welfare of the people of Selayar.
