Unhas LPPM Holds FGD on Policy Brief Publication to Strengthen Policy
The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) recently held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the theme of publishing policy briefs. The event aimed to strengthen policies relevant to the research results conducted by Unhas academics.
The event, which took place in the LPPM Unhas Meeting Room, was attended by various stakeholders, including researchers and academics. This FGD served as a platform for participants to discuss and share their views on effective ways to compile and publish policy briefs that can be used as a reference in policy-making in various sectors.
The Head of LPPM Unhas, Prof. dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.MK (K), in his speech conveyed the importance of publishing policy briefs as a form of tangible contribution from academic research results in regional and national development. “Policy briefs are a bridge between the academic and practical worlds, where research results can be directly applied in policies that have a broad impact on society,” said Prof. Nasrum.
This FGD produced various strategic recommendations, including the importance of collaboration between academics and the government in the preparation of policy briefs, as well as the need to simplify the language so that it is easier for policy makers to understand. In addition, the participants also emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacity of researchers in developing targeted policy briefs.
This activity is expected to encourage the publication of more policy briefs from LPPM Unhas, which will become an important reference for policy makers in various sectors. With this FGD, LPPM Unhas continues to be committed to connecting the academic world with the real needs of the community through the publication of quality policy briefs.
