LPPM UNHAS Holds Socialization of Thematic Research Group (TRG) Guidelines, Invites TRG Research Chairpersons
Makassar, January 13, 2025 The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) held the Thematic Research Group (TRG) Batch 1 Fiscal Year 2025 event. The event was attended by TRG Research Chairs from various research fields at UNHAS. The program aims to strengthen research collaboration, encourage technological innovation, and produce strategic solutions that have a real impact on society and the national economy.
In his speech, the Head of LPPM UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.MK, stated that the TRG program is an important part of UNHAS’s efforts to create innovation through interdisciplinary research. “TRG is expected to become a focused, productive, and widely influential group of experts. Through this program, impactful research collaboration can continue to be developed, producing reputable scientific publications and creating innovations that provide solutions to community problems,” said Prof. Nasrum.
The socialization activity, which took place in the LPPM UNHAS seminar room, aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the guidelines and procedures applicable in the TRG program. TRG is an initiative of LPPM Unhas that functions as a thematic research group based on strategic issues. In addition, TRG is designed to spark external research funding, including grant funding from institutions such as the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP).
“This program is also expected to expand the network of cooperation with various national and international partners, strengthen the reputation of Hasanuddin University as a center of excellence in research, and attract the interest of researchers,” said Prof. Andi Dirpan, Coordinator of TRG Unhas.
At the event, which was attended by the chair and members of TRG, various strategic agendas were discussed, including existing research and community service schemes at Unhas, program implementation mechanisms, and strategies for producing innovative and relevant research.
Unhas LPPM Secretary Prof. Ir. Suharman Hamzah added, “TRG will be a catalyst for national and global collaboration and serve as a window of information for international researchers. This program is also expected to encourage the creation of inventions and technological innovations that have a broad impact.”
It is hoped that with this socialization, the TRG Research Chairs will better understand the direction and objectives of this program and be able to contribute maximally in producing research works that are beneficial to the wider community.
The event was closed with an interactive question and answer session and is expected to be a good first step in the development of TRG-based research at Hasanuddin University.
