LPPM UNHAS Holds UNHAS Journal Watch Socialization to Improve the Quality of Scientific Publications
Thursday, July 10, 2025 – The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) held a UNHAS Journal Watch Socialization event as part of its efforts to increase scientific publications. The event was held in the LPPM UNHAS Hall and was attended by journal managers, students, lecturers, and researchers from various faculties within UNHAS.
This event aimed to introduce the UNHAS Journal Watch platform, a scientific journal monitoring and assistance system developed to support journal publications in order to be more careful in registering their journals. This socialization was also an important moment to strengthen the synergy between journal managers and strengthen scientific publication governance on campus.
The Head of LPPM UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.Mk, in his speech conveyed the importance of professional journal management as part of institutional performance indicators. “UNHAS Journal Watch is expected to be a strategic tool in mapping the strengths and weaknesses of each journal, so that guidance can be carried out in a targeted manner,” he said.
During this socialization, the UNHAS Journal Watch development team presented the main features of the platform, including the reporting system, quality monitoring, indexing, and technical aspects of journal management based on OJS (Open Journal Systems). Participants were also given the opportunity to discuss and provide input for further development.
Through this activity, LPPM UNHAS hopes that all journals under the auspices of UNHAS can achieve an increase in accreditation rankings and be able to penetrate reputable international indexes such as DOAJ, Scopus, and Web of Science.
