LPPM UNHAS Receives Visit from Barru Regional Government: Discusses Community Service Plans in Barru Regency
After receiving a visit from the Parepare City Government, the Hasanuddin University Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM UNHAS) once again received an official visit, this time from the Barru Regency Government, on Wednesday (11/6), at the LPPM UNHAS Building, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar.
The purpose of this visit was to discuss plans for community service collaboration to be implemented in the Barru Regency area. The Barru Regional Government delegation, led by the Regent of Barru, Hj. Andi Ina Kartika Sari, SH., M.Si, was welcomed by the Head of LPPM UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.Mk(K), together with the LPPM team.
During the meeting, both parties discussed community service programs focused on strengthening the capacity of rural communities, empowering the local economy, and providing research-based assistance in various strategic sectors in Barru, such as agriculture, fisheries, education, and health.
Prof. Nasrum expressed LPPM UNHAS’ commitment to supporting regional development through structured and sustainable community service programs. Community service is an integral part of the university’s mission, and we are ready to support Barru as a strategic partner in implementing these activities, he said.
Meanwhile, representatives from the Barru Regional Government expressed their hope that this collaboration would provide direct benefits to the people of Barru and strengthen the relationship between the local government and the academic world.
This visit marks the first step toward the implementation of the LPPM UNHAS community service program in 2025, which will involve faculty members and students from various faculties in activities based on the needs of the local community.
This visit is the beginning of a sustainable collaboration between UNHAS and the local government to create a broader impact on community development.
