Makassar, December 12, 2024 – The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) held an important meeting with the agenda of drafting a Strategic Plan (Renstra) for the 2025–2029 period. This agenda was designed to determine the direction of policies and roadmaps for research and community service in line with the university’s vision and mission. This activity was attended by the Heads of the Research and Development Centers (Puslitbang) under the auspices of LPPM Unhas.
The Secretary of LPPM Unhas, Prof. Ir. Suharman Hamzah, Ph.D., Eng, emphasized the importance of drafting the Renstra as a momentum to evaluate the strategic achievements that have been made previously. “This Renstra must be a guide that not only increases the productivity of research and community service, but also aligns policy direction with national economic development under the leadership of President Prabowo. In addition, this Renstra must be in accordance with the strategic framework of Hasanuddin University,” said Prof. Suhe.
In his remarks, the Head of LPPM Unhas, Prof. Dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.mk(K), highlighted the important role of the Research and Development Center in supporting the preparation of the Strategic Plan. “We encourage the active involvement of each Research and Development Center, not only in contributing to research but also in developing the competencies, capabilities, and knowledge of the staff. Looking further, this involvement is expected to be a stepping stone for building broader research collaboration with strategic partners,” he explained.
Furthermore, the Head of LPPM emphasized that the preparation of this Strategic Plan requires commitment and cooperation from all parties. Given that the drafting process takes a long time, all parties are expected to oversee each stage until the Renstra document is fully formulated.
The 2025-2029 Renstra framework integrates various research clusters across research and development centers, with a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach. Synergy between research centers is expected to produce holistic strategic policies that are oriented towards real impact on society, in line with the focus of each research center’s excellence.
Through the formulation of this Strategic Plan, LPPM Unhas affirms its commitment to continue making significant contributions, both in national development and in enhancing Unhas’ academic reputation at the international level.
