Optimizing Swamp Land, LPPM Unhas and South Sulawesi Food Crops Agency Sign Strategic Contract

Monday, March 3, 2025 – The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) officially signed a self-management contract with the South Sulawesi Provincial Office of Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantations. The signing took place at the local office and is a strategic step in optimizing swamp land management in the region.
The contract covers the implementation of a Design Investigation Study (SID) on Swamp Land Optimization, which aims to improve sustainable land use. This collaboration is expected to support the development of the agricultural sector with a research and technology-based approach.
The event was attended by the Head of the South Sulawesi Provincial Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantation Agency, staff from the Unhas LPPM cooperation department, and staff from related agencies. The presence of these stakeholders demonstrates a shared commitment to promoting more productive and sustainable agriculture.
“This collaboration is a concrete effort to optimize the utilization of swamp land in South Sulawesi. We hope that the results of this study can provide sustainable solutions for farmers in increasing agricultural productivity,” said Prof. Nasrum as the Head of LPPM.
With this self-management contract, it is hoped that the agricultural sector in South Sulawesi can develop better through more efficient and research-based land use.
