Officially Signing the Contract, Unhas Thematic Research Group Ready to Produce Leading Research

Thursday, February 20, 2025 – The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Hasanuddin University once again invited all Thematic Research Group (TRG) chairs to sign the first batch of special contracts. The event was attended by TRG chairs from various fields of study, ranging from Science, Health, Economics, Social Humanities (Soshum), Agriculture, Forestry, Postgraduate Studies, to Vocational Studies.
In his speech, the Head of LPPM Unhas, Prof. dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.Mk(K) emphasized his hope for the long-term sustainability of this research scheme. According to him, TRG is a potential research scheme that not only enhances the reputation of Unhas as a reputable educational institution, but also has a significant impact on increasing the capacity of research lecturers.
In line with the commitment to strengthening research, the Secretary of LPPM Unhas, Prof. Ir. Suharman Hamzah, Ph.D., Eng., HSE. conveyed the good news from his meeting with the Rector of Unhas and the TRG Coordinator. He revealed that there had been a change in the research fund disbursement mechanism to a more flexible one, namely a 100% direct disbursement system. This new policy was enthusiastically welcomed by the TRG chairs, as it allows them to fully optimize their budgets without being constrained by lengthy administrative processes.
“With 100% direct disbursement of funds, the resulting research is expected to be of better quality, as there will be fewer financial constraints that researchers have often faced,” said Prof. Suharman.
The signing of this contract marks the first step in a more effective and competitive TRG research scheme. With the full support of Unhas, researchers can now focus more on conducting innovative research that contributes to the advancement of science and community development.
